As we navigate through this virtual world of quarantine and staying apart from each other, I think it has been a time to reflect on what is really important in our lives. They say from every tragedy emerges something good.
Being locked up and isolated from the world is not a normal feeling to any of us. We are created by God to be social and be together with family and friends, out having fun and enjoying life. With that said it was almost surreal to me as we were asked to stay in and isolate.
What do we do, how do we act, when we go shopping we are looking at each other in a different way. However, I have also witnessed people out riding their bicycles, hiking and spending time with their families when before they might have been caught up in a much more busy world. So the good that has come is maybe a little perspective. What is this life all about? What is really meaningful? What is really important?
It's not about fame, fortune, how big our house is or what kind of car we drive. It's about the lives we touch and the people we love. In the end no matter how long or short we have here on Earth, it's about the the legacy we leave behind. As we live in this virtual world and start to get out again, it is my hope we all will look at each other with a little more understanding and forgiveness. That we all attempt to bring a little more kindness to each other and all do our part to help make this world a better place.
I think kindness and love in the end will be the true cure of this pandemic, not finger pointing, blaming and fighting each other. God bless you all and hope to see you soon out in the real world making a difference.
